MathsSample question · Level 1

Casey has 40 stickers and gives away 3/5 of them. How many stickers does Casey have left?

A8
B32
C64
D16

Why: Denominator 5: divide by the denominator first: 40 ÷ 5 = 8, so 1/5 of 40 = 8. Numerator 3: multiply by the numerator: 8 × 3 = 24 stickers given away. Subtract from the total: 40 − 24 = 16.

Times Tables

Build fast recall the way that works

Knowing the times tables cold is the single biggest shortcut in the 11+ maths paper. Every multiplication, division and word problem becomes faster and less stressful when the facts are automatic. GS Times Tables makes fluency feel like a game, not a chore.

⏱

Type the answer — fast

Questions appear on a retro calculator screen. Type the answer and move on. No multiple choice; real recall only. Wrong answers cost you a second and stay on screen until you get them right.

🔥

Four modes, one goal

60-second Quickfire for sheer speed. Table Sprint to nail one table at a time. Daily Drill for adaptive practice on your weakest facts. Custom Practice to mix tables 1–20 with multiply, divide, add and subtract.

📊

A heatmap that tells the truth

After every session, a 12×12 colour grid shows exactly which facts are solid (green), shaky (amber) or need urgent work (red). Students immediately know what to practise next.

Why families choose it

Built to teach, not just to test

Every question is original

Public papers are only used to understand formats. Every question here is written or generated for this site, so nothing is memorised from a past paper.

A worked answer every time

Right or wrong, your child sees the reasoning step by step, so each question teaches something.

Tutor's tips on every type

A short, practical tip before answering and again after marking, in plain language a ten-year-old can follow.

Five difficulty levels

Start at standard 11+ level and climb to questions deliberately harder than the real exam, so test day feels calmer.

A word bank that builds vocabulary

Child-friendly meanings, example sentences, similar words and opposites for words that turn up in 11+ papers.

Progress you can see

Per-topic scores show where to spend the next ten minutes. Progress is stored on your own device.

Questions

Good to know

Are these real past papers?

No. Every question is original and written for Prepare for Grammar. Public papers are used only to understand which question types and formats appear in the 11+.

Which exams is this for?

The questions follow the common types and styles used in 11+ tests. Exact formats vary by school and region, so check your target schools' current guidance.

Is it safe for children?

Children are shown only by a generated public name such as Brave Maple Otter, which cannot be changed. We collect no real names and no free text from children, and a parent can hide a player from leaderboards or delete them at any time.

Do I have to pay to try it?
